It is common to find people dissatisfied with their work within all age groups. But what is the main reason for this dissatisfaction? Should we accept, that work must be hard and bitter as a normal part of life? The answer is no. We spend too much time at work, and if we don’t find a way to enjoy it, this apathy will negatively affect other areas of our lives. I want to share with you some techniques that have given me outstanding results throughout my career.

1. Become a master at what you do.

The more knowledge you gain in your area of ​​expertise, the easier it will be for you to perform the tasks at hand, which will minimize your stress level. With more knowledge, your mind will generate more and better ideas to make your chores more efficient.

Finally, the more you learn, the more doors will open to you in the market. These days getting knowledge and training is a lot more accessible to us than to prior generations. 2. Concentrate on adding value.

The second strategy to make the job more enjoyable is to Focus on adding value. If you have a service, a product, or deal with customers, one rule applies: Always look for ways to increase value. Get creative in finding ways to help them make or save money, identify ways to make processes easier and/or faster, and keep the highest quality you can on everything you do.

3. Build win-win relationships.

A third technique is to build mutually win-win relationships. Often, the work does not feel pleasant due to misunderstandings that can occur with co-workers, managers, clients, or anybody you interact with daily. All relationships are made up of two parts. In all cases, we are 100% responsible for one of those parts. We can fully control how we act and react in the workplace, regardless of what triggers may be. Sometimes the people around you will have a bad day. In some cases, they can be annoying, entitled, condescending, and anything else you can think of, but in many cases, they may be experiencing frustrating situations that may affect their behavior. Most relationships can improve if we change our perceptions.

If you put into practice all these techniques but still feel unhappy with your work, remember you have choices.  You don’t need to stick around a place that does not value you. If you know your stuff, always add value to everything you do, and keep awareness of your impact on every relationship, better companies will love to have you.
